Gene Okerlund Obituary

WWE's most iconic backstage interviewer, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, passed away on January 2, 2019 at the age of 76.

The voice of "Mean" Gene Okerlund was as recognizable as the WWE superstar wrestlers he stood next to, which included Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Randy "Macho Man" Savage, Andre the Giant, the Ultimate Warrior and many more from 1984-1993, known today as wrestling's Golden era. He made the switch to rival organization, WCW, shortly after in 1993.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 by Hulk Hogan.
