He was predeceased by : his parents, Leonard Smith and Blanche Smith (Luinstra). He is survived by : his wife Ruth Smith; and his son Brian Smith (Juli) of Colorado Springs, CO.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home (325 S Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067). A burial was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at the Highland Cemetery (1050 E 15th St, Ottawa, KS 66067).
