He was predeceased by : his parents, Foster Eldon Backus and Pauline Payne Backus; and his stepmother Charlotte Lucille Backus. He is survived by : his wife Kay Backus; his sons, Jason (Laura) and Jeffrey Backus (Regan); and his grandchildren, Caroline, William, Harper, Griffin and Bryson.
In the memory of Bill and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Georgia Transplant Foundation where Bill held the position of President for two terms.
