She was predeceased by : her parents, Eugene Powers and Ima Jean Powers; her siblings, Vicky Turner, Roger Powers, Gary Turner and Marc Smalley; and her son Clayton Cox.

She is survived by : her husband Michael Cox; her siblings, Robin Powers of Vinton, Iowa, Cheryl Knaack (Harold) of Vinton, Iowa, Betty Shea (Mark) of Iowa City, Iowa, Patty Powers of Iowa City, Iowa and Robert Smalley of Seaside, Oregon; her children, Jason Cox (Leah) of Vera, Almería (Spain), Carlos Cox (Katie) of Brandon, Iowa, Ivan Cox (Denise) of Crescent Springs, Kentucky and Juliette Huntsman (Andy) of Fishkill; her stepson Mark Cox (Sara) of Manhattan, Kansas; and her grandchildren, Emily, Olivia, Logan (Liz), Sarah, Elijah, Evan, Oliver, Ivy, Ava and Levi Cox. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

A memorial service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (307 N K Ave, Vinton, IA 52349).
