She is survived by : her children, Karen Bruess (Mary Chval) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Linda Lechtenberg (Rich) of New Hampton, IA, Jean Ann Bruess (Dean Rue) of Madison, WI and Charles Bruess (Angie) of Trivoli, IL; her daughter-in-law Jill Bruess of Cedar Falls, IA; her grandchildren, Matthew Lechtenberg, Samuel Lechtenberg, Megan Nesvik (Jeff), Chas Bruess (Sami), Chris Bruess, John Bruess and Jalynn Roberts (Tanner); her great grandchildren, Alice Bruess, Calvin Nesvik, Colton Bruess and Nora Nesvik; her brothers, Linus Sabelka (Doris) and Leon Sabelka (Elaine); and her sisters-in-law, Sandy Sabelka, Marilyn Sabelka and Mary Lou Bruess.

A rosary was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 at 1:45 PM at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home (123 N Main St, Protivin, IA 52163). Visitation was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, May 20th 2024 at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church (124 N Main St, Protivin, IA 52163).
