He was predeceased by : his parents, Merrill Lloyd Hayes and Cathryn Shuler Hayes; his stepmother Wilma Hayes Henderson; his parents-in-law, Reiner and Ida Rasmussen; and his brother Cliff.
He is survived by : his wife Harriet Rasmussen of Decorah, IA; his children, Tim (Kristin) of Decorah, IA, Heidi (Rick) of Shingle Springs, CA and Dan (Sophia) of Nicosia, Cyprus; his grandchildren, Lydia, Gus and Arlo Hayes of Decorah, IA; his children, Tinos, Markos and Natalie Hayes of Nicosia, Cyprus; and his brothers, Tom Hayes (Kathy) of Atlantic, IA and Bob Hayes (Sandy) of Muscatine, IA..
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Good Shepard Lutheran Church of Decorah, IA; the Decorah Food Bank; or to your favorite charity in Claude's name.
