He is survived by : his children, Jason Gross (Angela) of Brooklyn Center, MN and Heather Hammer (Jeff) of Fort Meade, MD; his grandchildren, Caroline Hammer and Lucas Gross; and his siblings, Patrick Gross of Racket, MO, Thomas Gross (Jeri) of East Dubuque, IL, Michael Gross (Sandra) of Dubuque, IA, Linda of East Dubuque, IL and Deborah Slater (Tom) of Benton, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, June 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lensing Oak Hill (210 Holiday Rd, Coralville, IA 52241). A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 2nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
