He was predeceased by : his parents, Harvey Henderson and Stella Henderson (Driscoll); his stepson Tim Ahmad; his siblings, J. Eugene Henderson, Bob Henderson (Dorothy), Don Henderson and Eleanor Carter (Nick); his parents-in-law, Bill and Irene Costolo; his brothers-in-law, Bob, Jim, Steve Costolo and Ron Hendricks; his nieces, Patti Hurmence and Jan Carter; and his nephew Jim Carter.

He is survived by : his former life partner Rokuko; his wife Colleen Ahmad (Costolo); his siblings-in-law, Shirley Henderson, Marti Hendricks, Milly Swenka, Terri Larson (Hal) and Larry Costolo; his nieces and nephews, LeaAnn Thompson (Jim), John Henderson (Abby), Jay Henderson (Kristy), Don Henderson Jr., Pam Boesenberg, Jeff Henderson (Christal), Denny Carter (Katha), Debbie Carter, Kim Ruepke (Jim), Laurie Hunter (Mike), Dave Wetzel (Sandy), Dawn Cole (Doug), Jim Costolo (Michelle), Megan Pruszynski (Robert), Heather Snipes (Dale), Grace Hendricks (Yale Cohn), Shelley Jacobus (Eric), Lisa Costolo, Tracy Costolo, Ben Swenka, Chad Swenka (Amanda Hammond) and Scott Larson; and his friends, Howard, Lucy Amish, Don and Shirley.

A reception was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be made to the Red Cross, who helped his mother so much when his brother died in WWII, or to Iowa City Hospice.
