He was predeceased by : his parents, James J. Sr. Whitlock and Hulda Whitlock; his brother Clarence Whitlock (Chuck); his son Bryan Whitlock; and his grandson Allen Dickerson.

He is survived by : his wife Jo Ann of Hamilton; his sister Jean Riemer (Fred) of Phoenix, AZ; his children, Trudy Dickerson of Deer Lodge and Randy Whitlock of Whitefish; and his grandchildren, Sidney, Sierra Whitlock of Whitefish, Eli Whitlock (Taylor) and Matt Dickerson (Tara).

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Hieronymus Park (196 Hieronymus Park Dr, Hamilton, MT 59840).
