He was predeceased by : his wife Ruth Bruce; his former life partner Edna Bruce (Nelson); and his siblings, Paul, Larry, Johnny, Donnie and Jean.

He is survived by : his brother Alvin Bruce (Kathy); his daughters, Wendy Patterson and Wilma Casey (Cecil); and his grandchildren, Melody Casey, Thomas Patterson, Valerie Reid (Ryman), Kevin Patterson, Carolyn Casey (Andrew), Elizabeth Casey and Charles Casey (Leah). He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
