Vernon leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Vernon’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Vernon will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Scheidt and Helen Scheidt; and his siblings, Dorothy Wolver (Merv) and Elmer (Donna). He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his children, Lori (Christoph), Dave (Alison), Darren (Kathy) and Robby Lee (Sandy); and his sister Diana Hickman (Gordon). He is also survived by six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Airdrie Curling Club (275 Jensen Dr NE, Airdrie, AB T4B0G2).
Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
