He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie; his son Mathew McGinnis; and his brother Brian. He is survived by: his daughter Jessica McGinnis; his daughter-in-law Delma Johnson; his grandchildren, Damian Johnson (Jazzmin), Morgan Johnson, Mason Johnson, Avery Johnson (Cheyanne) and Savannah Johnson; his great grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Søren Westby, Alarah Johnson and Alexis Young; and his siblings, Norma Barton (Peter), Barbara Ferris (Bob), Sharon McMullen (Gene), Dalene McLeod (Duncan), Bert McGinnis (Lydia), Dean McGinnis (Lori), Miles McGinnis (Cindy) and Murrey McGinnis. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
