Katherine Ailene Nelson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Ailene Nelson of Athabasca, Alberta, who passed away on January 2, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Earl; her parents, Peter Chilak and Mary Chilak; her sister Annie Kowalchuk; and her son-in-law Ken Larson.

She is survived by: her children, Ron Nelson (Rose) of Faust, Donna Larson of Boyle, Debbie Nelson (Ron Giesbrecht) of Athabasca, Sandra Haley (Jacques Gagnon) of Red Deer and Wayne Nelson (Dawn) of Athabasca; and her sister Mary Kowalchuk. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Athabasca Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of one's choice.
