Melvin Ryan Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin Ryan of Athabasca, Alberta, who passed away on May 14, 2021 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Archie Ryan and Doreen Ryan; his son-in-law Jim Green; his siblings-in-law, George Edwards and Dorothy Ryan; his nephew Eric Ryan; and also, Henry, Bernice Boehlke and Kendall Koehler.

He is survived by : his wife Judy Boehlke; his children, Stacee Taylor (Dan), Carla Simoneau (Henri) and Marsha Laing (Todd); his grandchildren, Jordan Weber (Daron), Randall Weber (Kendall), Becca Weber (Tate), Shaila Holub (Tyler), Aimee Holub, Ryan Holub, Bailee Laing, Kailee Beauchamp, Reed Beauchamp and Maddax Laing; his great grandchild Jaelyn Weber; his siblings, Gerald Ryan and Judy Edwards; and his siblings-in-law, Geri Koehler (Glen) and Dan Boehlke (Anne). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

No service will be held at this time due to Covid restrictions.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SCARS Second Chance Animal Rescue Society.

Bob and Shirley Priebe wrote a sympathy message

“Hi Judy, I am very sad to see that Melvin has passed away. My family, the Weldons, were good friends of Archie and Doreen way back when they farmed and carried through many years. My brother, Ron and Melvin used to hang out as boys and I have memories of them wrestling many times. Melvin could sing the Auctioneers Song which always impressed me. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the family. In Sympathy, Shirley Weldon Priebe”
