He is survived by: his parents, Jane Tanaka and Keith Tanaka of Coleman, AB; his brother Dean Tanaka (Jill) of Fernie, BC; and his sibling's children, Isaac Tanaka and Ashley Tanaka. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation "Greatest Need" (PO Box 455 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).
