It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Hamnett of Bluffton, Alberta, born in Rivers, Manitoba, who passed away on February 21, 2021, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Hamnett and Kathleen Hamnett; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Edith Shields. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Merle; his children, Susan Harris (Tim) of Calgary, AB, Donna Newton (Darcy) of Trochu, AB, Shane Hamnett (Rachel) of New Plymouth and Laura-Lee Erickson of Red Deer, AB.; his grandchildren, Austin, Chad Harris, Kali Miller, Tessa (Quentin Lemay), Brenn Newton, Lachlan, Eloise Hamnett, Aspen and Teagan Erickson; his great grandchildren, Daxton and Draedyn Bergquist; and his brothers, Dave Hamnett of Rivers and Dennis Hamnett of Red Deer, AB.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
