He was predeceased by : his grandson Lucas Martin; his parents, Louis Martin and Iley Martin; his siblings, Ellen Gamble, Louise Espetveidt, Bernard and Ray Martin; and his brother-in-law Donald Espetveidt.

He is survived by : his wife Cheryl Martin; his children, Iley Wierzba (Rod), David Jr. (Martin), Wade Martin (Kyla), Jason Martin (Janice), Lawrence Martin (Georgia), Marc Ouimet (Robin), Pauline Ouimet, Natalie Lee (Geoff), Teresa Michaud (Gabe) and Tracey Kopala (Carson); and his brother Gilbert Martin (Olive).
