He was predeceased by: his father Martin Salzl; his sister Lynn Rammel; his parents-in-law, John and Rita Boast; and his niece Christina Rammel.
He is survived by: his mother Lyla Salzl; his wife Jannet Boast-Salzl; his siblings, Richard Salzl (Sandra), Sylvia Salzl (Gerald Eckland), Mona Salzl (Rodney Rhoades) and Lisa Hougen (Dave); his godchildren, Tanner Corbeil and Gabrielle Stone; his siblings-in-law, Gloria Pearson (Rick), Barb Harvey (Gilles), Theresa Wear (Bruce Rimmer) and Grant Rammel (Leanne Stecyk); and his nieces and nephews, Marcella Smith (Terry), Karrie Jordon (Jason), Jamie Wishart (Shondra), Jesse Salzl (Jessica), Nicole Winterholt (Ryley), Rebecca Turner (Eric), James Salzl-Watt (Syrina), K. C. Rhoades (Joe), Jody Rammel (Tash), Darren Ross (Lanae), Ryan Ross, Sarah Meade (Ryan), Angela Hernandez (Victor), Jonathan Pearson (Megan), Jason Wear, Matthew Wear (Laura) and Dave. He is also survived by friends & extended family.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Graham Field House, Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre (4313 50 Ave, Bonnyville, AB T9N0B4).
