She was predeceased by: her sons, Peter and Darrell Chyz; her siblings, Emile Dery, Helen Zeleny, Rita Baik, Lucille King, Marguerite Cooper and Therese Robbins; and her parents, Narcisse Dery and Cordelia Dery.

She is survived by: her husband Walter Chyz; her children, Brian Chyz, Debora Burke, Linda Vassallo, David Chyz, Barbara Chyz, Karen Rietveld, Jewel Lord (Vern), Leslie Nichol and Joanne Chyz; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Chyz (Brittany), Kristie Johansen (Doug), Michael Chyz (Heather), Kymberly Lord, Nicole Romanick, Christopher Nichol (Stephanie), Noelle Burke, Lacey Chyz, Jennifer Nichol (Bryden) and Bradley Lord. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville, Alberta.
