It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Straub of Brooks, Alberta, who passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. As John departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved John. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was predeceased by: his wife Erna. He is survived by: his children, Robert (Wendy), Susan (Michael Sandberg), Gary (Rhonda), Karin (Ellard Kanewischer) and Jacky (Bob LaRocque). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grand-daughters, numerous brother and sister-in laws, nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany Lutheran Church.
