He was predeceased by: his parents, John Luijkx and Corrie Luijkx; his brother Bill (Charlene); his brother-in-law Jim Stefanich (Corrie); and his parents-in-law, Nick and Lena Herbst.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Brad (Mercy Dahl) and Jenn Wood (Darren); his grandchildren, Ben, Adam and Olivia (Luijkx); his siblings, Gerard (Hedy), Ellie Austen (George), John (Carla), Corrie Stefanich and Marion Lundgren (Jack); and also, Erin, London and Ellary (Wood). He is also survived by his children and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Although, Parkinson's and Dementia took over his independence and his life, it was most important to him to maintain his involvement in the community, his family and friends lives, up until the very end.
