He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis and Bertha; his brothers, William and Henry; his parents-in-law, Henry and Katie Schmidt; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Schmidt and Iris Schmidt.
He is survived by: his wife Irene; his children, Cheryl Morrison (Lee) and Darin (Carolin); his grandchildren, Conrad (Jenn), Mitch (Ashely) of Edmonton and Lauren; his great grandchild Mackenzie of Ontario; his adoptive parents, Brad Hempel and Shannon Hempel; and his brother-in-law Lawie Schmidt.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (Prairie View Chapel, 1605 - 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 p. m. **For those in attendance, please note that masks are mandatory.** For those unable to attend, a livestream of the service will be available beginning at 2:00 p. m. and can be accessed by clicking on this link: (to be provided soon).
