He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his sons, Philip, Daniel (Salimah), Thomas and Neal (Lyndsey); his grandchildren, Keeley, Alex, Colton and Ashton; and his siblings, Tammy Oetelaar (Joe), Jane Myers, Bill Alberda, John Alberda (Dorothy) and Ann Alberda.
