He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Sweetland and Eleanor Sweetland. He is survived by: his wife Jean Sweetland; his children, Shelley Whitson (Patrick) and Christopher Sweetland; and his siblings, John Sweetland (Barbara), Harry Sweetland, Robert Sweetland (Glenda), Kathleen O'Mahony (Edwin) and Paul Sweetland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
