He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Dechenne and Kathleen Dechenne; and his siblings, Victor Dechenne, Marion Anderson of Bessie Nebogie, Francis Maetche and Dolera Gordon.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Dechenne of Strathmore, AB; his children, Debbie Klassen (Hank) of Assiniboia, SK, Dianna Dechenne of Airdrie, AB and Kevin Dechenne (Lisa) of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren, Kody, Jessica, Katherine, Brooke and Hailey; and his siblings, Allan, Jim Dechenne, Murial LaCoste and Margaret Dechenne. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
