Barbara Ida Ann (Power) Anthony Obituary
Barbara (Queen Bee) Anthony, the beloved wife of the late Sterling Anthony of Calgary, passed away with her loving family by her side at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the age of 74 years. Barbara will be remembered with love by her children: Barry Anthony, Darren Anthony, Tina (Tom) Anthony, Tammy (Greg) Anthony all of Calgary, Charmaine (Stu) Thurlow of Chestermere, Tracylynn Anthony and Tyler Anthony of Calgary, and Brenda (Allan) Mihalicz of Carstairs; and her twelve grandchildren: Cody (Krista), Faith (Cole), Brody (Angelica), Justin, Keegan, Brittany Chaston, Brayden, Bryce, Kyle, Jaxon, and Evan, plus "one on the way".
She will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Bern (Linda) of NFLD, Gen (Bill) of Calgary, Gert (Danny) of NFLD, Boyde (Audrey) of NFLD, Madeline of Toronto, Monty (Doreen) of NFLD, Cavell (Kevin) of Airdrie, and Paula (Dale) of NFLD; and her in-laws: Joanne Power, Evonne Power, Eugene (Lorraine), Bruce (Bonnie), Marilyn Scrivener, Louise (Cal), Karen (Doug), Harry (Judy), Merv (Flora), and Sylvia (Peter).
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Sterling Anthony on February 4, 2014, her mother Edna Jane Power, her father Nicholas Alfonso Power, and her brothers Edgar Power and Micheal Power. Barb was born on July 1, 1945 in Grand Falls NFLD. She married Sterling Anthony on June 26, 1965, later moved to Calgary in December 1979.
Barb was a loving and caring lady who welcomed anyone into her home. She had eight of her own children but was "Mom" to many.
