He was predeceased by: his wife Vivian Anne Muriel Armstrong; and his parents, Cecil Rhodes Armstrong and Adella Iona Armstrong. He is survived by: his children, Fraser C. Armstrong and Stacey K. Armstrong; his daughter-in-law Patricia Thygesen; his grandchildren, Connor, Marlo and Declan; and his sisters, Sonja and Sherry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
