With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Brenda Barootes of Calgary, Alberta, who passed away on March 22, 2021 at the age of 60. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Brenda Barootes to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Betty and Efstathios (Staff); and her brother Bobby. She is survived by: her close friends, Monica and Chris; and her siblings, Barbara, Barrie (Trish), Bryan (Patty) and Brent (Coryna). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, cousins, friends.

In lieu of flowers feel free to make a donation in her memory to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Alzheimer Society of Calgary, STARS Air Ambulance or the MEOW Foundation (Calgary cat rescue).

“Brenda always had something on her mind and she rarely had a problem telling you even if you did not like it. She served the Progressive Conservative government of Grant Devine when I got to know her and she never had to be told anything twice. She did her job with humour and industry. She was smart and she was kind at all times. Her life was cut too short by the horrible disease of cancer. She had so much more to offer. Sharon and I offer our heartfelt sympathy to her family.”
