He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Illing and Edith Illing. He is survived by: his wife Carmen; his stepchildren, Samantha (Jesse) and Macintyre (Sarah); and his grandchildren, Marie and Lochlan.

Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
