He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl and Mary; and his siblings, Dorthy, Keith, Robert and Jim.

He is survived by: his siblings, Sheila and Brian; his wife Fin Shengjie Zhou; his children, Julie (Vern) and Tim; his grandchildren, Geoffrey William Bailey (Racheal), Brian Vernon Bailey (Vanessa), Christopher Douglas Bailey (Hunter) and Zachary Maier; and his great grandchildren, Jason, Lilith, Gavin, Liam and Mason William.
