It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecil Rolf Vernon Thomson in Calgary, Alberta, who passed away on December 29, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Carroll Darlene Thomson; his son John Douglas Edward Thomson; his parents, Jack Thomson and Nancy Thomson; and his siblings, John Thomson, Raymond Thomson and Nancy Kobe.

He is survived by: his close friend Wendy Hamilton; his children, Gordon Thomson (Rosa) of Calgary, Deborah Steenstra (Jim) of Calgary and Linda Thomson (Simon Powell); and his daughter-in-law Julie Thomson (Shawn Helmle) of Calgary. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made directly to the charity of the donor's choice.
