He is survived by: his wife Jodi (Keller); his parents, Allan Sandquist and Tanis Sandquist (Snowden); his brothers, Trevor and Kevin Sandquist; and his pet Sergio. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Darryl's memory to the SPCA—a cause close to his heart.
