He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Thompson and Harry Thompson; his sons, John and Mark; his brother Richard; his sister-in-law Shirley (Derek Lunn); his nephew Michael Thompson; and his niece Deborah Thompson Goffic.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Thompson; his son Robert (Angela); his granddaughter Ceili of Calgary; his daughter Lisa Danielewicz (Michael); his grandchildren, Aidan and Sydney of Calgary; and his siblings-in-law, John Zenko (Carmelle) of Brockville, Ontario, Marilyn Walton of Calgary and Wati Thompson of Bakersfield, California. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke's Catholic Church (1566 Northmount Dr NW, Calgary, AB T2L0G6).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made In Dave's name to the Calgary Food Bank or Meals on Wheels in Calgary.
