He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Levy Best and Alice Harper; his siblings, Frederick, Kathleen Pinch, Helen Jackson, Edith Henderson and Eileen Gratton (Best); his half-brothers, Leslie and Arthur Best; and his sister Annie Strong.
He is survived by: his children, Donna of Edmonton, AB, Wayne of Edmonton, AB, Lisa and Melinda of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by numerous grand-children as well as many nieces and nephews.
