He is survived by : his sons, David and Dean Richards; his children-in-law, Karryn and Pip; his grandchildren, Brandon Richards and Alandra Fyten; his grandchildren-in-law, Jenn and Tyler; his significant other Heather Bell; his son Jason Boutron; his grandchildren, Adrianna, Sabrina and Rylan; his daughter Kristen Houser (Doug); and his grandchildren, Hayley and Ryan.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Southview Alliance Church (20200 Walden Blvd SE, Calgary, AB T2X0N4).
