It is with sadness that the passing of Douglas Andrew Watson in Calgary, Alberta is shared. Douglas, born on March 3, 1952 in Woodstock, Ontario, passed away on August 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Douglas will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honour Douglas by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Douglas is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Douglas’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his significant other Joanne Watson; his daughter Kimberley; and his parents, Florence Turton and Arthur Watson. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Douglas and Kristen; and his granddaughter Lucy. He is also survived by siblings, and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home (369 Railway St W, Cochrane, AB T4C2C6).
Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
