He was predeceased by: his son Neal James Whitley; his parents, Ruby Whitley (Freeman) and Vick J. Whitley; his brother Roger Whitley; and his sister-in-law Martha Sue Whitley.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn of The Villages, FL; his son Ryan Edward Whitley; his daughter-in-law June; his grandsons, Jack Edward Whitley and Nicholas Robert Whitley of Indianapolis; and his nieces, Vicka Bragg (Whitley), Shannon Hawks (Whitley), Sarah (Coutts) and Bryanton (Victoria).
