We announce the death of Edith May (Pannenbecker) Abramenko (Calgary, Alberta), who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 77. Edith will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Edith will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Edith will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Edith’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Pannenbecker and Helen Pannenbecker; and her sisters, Dolly Fitch (Helen), Georgina Trask and Sherry Stallman.
She is survived by: her daughter Luella; her son-in-law Kevin; her grandchildren, Kali and Dylon; her siblings, Rose (Bill), Bernie (Gary) and John (Helen); and her friend Raymond Bosco. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gathering Mountain View Cemetery (1605 100 St SE, Calgary, AB T1X0L4).
