It is with sadness that the passing of Emily Murguia Lavapiez of Calgary, Alberta is shared. Emily, born on June 18, 1982, passed away on September 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Pedro Lavapiez; and her husband Aniano. She is survived by: her daughters, Aebrielle, Kuya Asher and Aelesha; and her siblings, Jean, Jay, Joven, Denis, Melvin and Mary. She is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home (12281 40 St SE, Calgary, AB T2Z4E6). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the First Alliance Church (12345 40 St SE, Calgary, AB T2Z4M8).
Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
