He is survived by: his son Ernest Joseph "Jody" Fanning; his grandchildren, Carisa Quebec (George), Johnathan (Renee), Erica (Chad), Brianna and Dylan (Michael); his adoptive daughter Angel Ann; and his siblings, Katherine (Don), Maureen, Kimberley (John), Kathleen, John and Kevin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
