He was predeceased by: his parents, William O'Flaherty and Mary O'Flaherty; and his siblings, Kay, Kevin and Desmond.

He is survived by: his wife Carole; his children, Brian (Nicola), Neil (Sandra) and Deirdre (Raymond); his grandchildren, Delaney, Fiona O'Flaherty, Declan, Bryden O'Flaherty, Molly and Clare Kavanagh; and his siblings, Bill and Carmel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
