He was predeceased by: his parents, Hettie Phillips and Halley Smith; his son Wayne Smith; his great grandchild Avery Decker; and his niece Opal Doleman.

He is survived by: his wife Greta Smith; his children, Cheryl Taylor (Clark) and Philip Smith (Anna); his grandchildren, Cathy Decker (Ryan) and Raymond Perkins; and his great grandchildren, Addison and Duke Decker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
