He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Helwerda and Gerda Helwerda; and his brother Johnny. He is survived by: his wife Denise; his children, Jason (Rhea) and Janessa Turner (Brady); his granddaughter Presley; his son Jordan (Brooklyn); and his sister Carin Wilde (Dirk).
