Heather Dawn Eamon Obituary

Heather Dawn Eamon passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 71 in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta . Heather was born in Calgary on April 28, 1954, to h er parents Eleanor and Leonard Chamberlain. She grew up alongside her brother Jim and sister Reny, and soon after her graduation from high school, she enrolled in SAIT t o become a commercial cook. Heather graduated from SAIT in 1974 , and that same year , married her loving husband David (Dave) Eamon. Heather and Dave were married on October 19, 1974, with a memorable reception hosted at Heritage Park.

During her working years, Heather was the sous chef for Canadi an Airline caterers and took great pride in provid ing cooked meals to passengers . In 1984, Heather retired and spent 2 years in Anglemont , B.C. caring for her mother. In retirement, Heather enjoyed spending time with friends and family and in 1999 , Heather and Dave opened their home to Japanese students enrolled in a Homestay program. From 1999 to 2017, Heather and Dave cared for 29 different students, supporting them through their st udies, no matter how long.

The Hawaiian main island was a place that Heather often reminisced upon. She had the opportunity to vi sit the beautiful landscape and never took for granted the experiences she had there. With Dave, Heather often enjoyed 3-day trips out to Canmore, Alberta s taying at the Falcon Crest Lodge . Heather cherished every moment of her time with Dave not only in Canmore, but over the ir 52 years of marriage. Heather is pre-deceased by her father Leonard James Chamberlain (1985) ; mother Eleanor Mary Chamberlain (1997) ; and sister Reny DeJong (2023).

Her legacy will live on through her husband Dav e Eamon ; brother Jim Chamberlain ; niece D awn (Darren) Strand ; nephews Ryan Eamon and Scott Chamberlain ; Korean granddaughter Emma Kim; and 29 Homestay students from Japan . A Celebration of Heather's life will be held at 10:00am on April 15, 2026 , at Eden Brook Funeral Home in the Elbow Valley Reception Centre.
