She was predeceased by: her parents, Stjepan Matjanec and Ana Matjanec (Skoda); and her husband Nezir Jusic. She is survived by: her daughter Ferida Tinke; her grandson Jeffery Tinke (Lauren); her great grandchildren, Jacob and Jeremy Tinke; her sister Franciska Eres; her nephews, Tibor Eres, Steven Kusen of Calgary and John Kusen (Carrie) of Calgary; her brother Pista Matjanec (Ljubica); and her nephews, Charlie Matjanec (Mary) of Hamilton and Steve Matjanec (Joanne) of Ottawa. She is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke foundation, or to a charity of one's choice in Helen's (Jelica's) memory.
