Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Irene for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. She was loved and cherished by many people including: husband: Dennis; children: Dean (Christina), Kelly (Tamara), Darren (Heather), and Carey (Devon); grandchildren: Braden (Francesca), Tyson, Zac, Knox, and Bren; great-grandchildren: Nora and Zoey; sister: Lucia (Robin) Edmond; parents: John and Sophie Szewczyk; nieces: Jody (Dan) and Jess (Dan); and a loving extended family of in-laws, many additional nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Waterfront Park (5225 101 St NW, Calgary, AB T3B5K2).
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
