It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Heistad in Calgary, Alberta, born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, who passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Rey Heistad; her son-in-law Phil Cotter; her parents, Wilbur Seibel and Mary Seibel; and her siblings, Wayne, Lou, Florine and Gail.
She is survived by: her sister Myrna; her siblings-in-law, Don Monette and Peg Seibel; her children, Lavonne Cotter, Lynette Heistad (Andy), Shelly Bach (Ted) and Kent Heistad (Jacky); her grandchildren, Jaron (Chelsea), Steph, Savannah (Brad), Brenna (Jesse), Mitchell (Melissa), Matthew (Megan), Mackenzie (Sophie), Bella and Liv; and her great grandchildren, Teegan, Emilia, Parker, Porter, Emmett and Cameron. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
