He was predeceased by: his parents, Dilip Singh Boparai and Gulab Kaur; his son Kuku S. Boparai; his sons-in-law, Swaranjit S. Gill and Yarinder Brar; his brother Teja Singh Boparai; his sister-in-law Nachattar Kaur; and his sisters, Raghvir Kaur (Joginder Mann), Mohinder Kaur (Gurdial Randhawa) and Harbans Kaur.
He is survived by: his wife Pritpal Kaur Boparai of Calgary; his grandchild Teddy Bear; his sons-in-law, Ravinder K. Gill, Amanvir K. Atwal, Harjit S. Atwal, Charanjit K. Gill, Jaswinder S. Gill, Gaganjit Uppal, Rajinderpal S. Uppal, Ishtpreet Brar, Ishkmandeep Boparai and Harjinder S. Sarwara; his grandchildren, Shabroop Bhatthal (Sharanjit S. Bhatthal), Harsimranjit S. Gill (Sanjeet Gill), Roopan K. Gill, Jasmyn Gill (Andrew Richard Hastings), Jayvir S. Atwal (Sapandeep Atwal), Pamela Uppal, Chetan Manvir S. Uppal (Rohini Uppal), Nishaan Brar (Anastasia Pimenova), Narbhey Atwal, Jonathan Brar, Arvin Boparai-Sarwara and Jesvin Sarwara; his great grandchildren, Greshaan S. Bhatthal, Ivraj S. Bhatthal of Chicago, USA, Ambreen Gill, Ambarpratap Gill, Asees K. Atwal and Seyvah K. Atwal; and his sisters, Harkesh Kaur (Arjan Singh) and Mohan Kaur. He is also survived by his loving wife, Jhanda is survived by his 6 daughters.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory to Alberta Cancer Foundation in Care of Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
