It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Bate of Calgary, Alberta, who passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Linda Bate; and his parents, John Bate and Mona Bate. He is survived by: his wife Joan Bate of Calgary; his children, Lonn (Madelaine), Liane and KaraLee; his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Eva, Liam, Carter and Matthew; and his siblings, Ruth Genge (Ken) and Dick Bate (Barbara).
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mountain View Funeral Home (Prairie View Chapel) (1605 100 St SE, Calgary, AB T1X0L4).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, 28 Oki Drive NW, Calgary, Alberta T3B 6A8.
