He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Francis Jasin and Harry Swystun; wife: Diane Swiston; brothers: Ed (Marian) Swiston, Zale (Bonnae) Jasenn, Bill Swiston, and Garry Jasin; sons: Joey (Teresa), Johnny, and Chris Swiston; grandchildren: Christian (Heather), Alexandra (Manpreet), Taylor, Logan, Christopher (Sarah), Dryden Swiston, and Desirae Glass (Rob); sister-in-law/relative: Rose Swiston and Tina Swiston; and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Eden Brook Funeral Home (24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary, AB T3Z3K2). A reception will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 285 (9202 Horton Rd SW, Calgary, AB T2V2X4).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's memory to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 285 (Horton Road).
